Saucy Ramen Noodles

My sister and I have recently been obsessed with Asian cuisine. We love to buy noodle bowls from the store to make for our lunches, but ever since the pandemic, it has been hard to find them in stock at the grocery stores. When we ran out of our noodle bowls, I happened to stumble upon this recipe. It looked easy and simple, so we thought that we would give it a try.

Ingredients

  • 2 uncooked ramen “bricks” or other noodles you may prefer
  • 1/2 cup of room temperature water
  • 3-4 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1.5 tablespoons of corn starch
  • 2-3 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds and spring onions for topping

Instructions

  1. Combine water, soy sauce, corn starch, maple syrup, lemon juice, ground pepper and sesame oil in a bowl to make your sauce. Stir well.
  2. Boil water in a pan. Add your noodles and cook until chewy, or half way through.
  3. Heat a pan and add the sauce. Let it simmer over medium heat.
  4. Next, add the noodles to the pan and mix the sauce with the noodles. Cook in the pan on medium heat until the noodles absorb the sauce and the sauce thickens.

These noodles turned out delicious! I was amazed at how easy the recipe was to follow, and how authentic the meal tasted. I will definitely be using this recipe again!
