Peanut Butter Cookies

With no school, shopping malls, fitness centers, salons, or any in person social interactions, I often find myself bored and desperately looking for things to do. Thankfully, with grocery stores remaining open, my sweet tooth can still be fulfilled. However, instead of buying a pint of ice cream and calling it a day, in an attempt to cure my boredom, I bought some peanut butter, flour, and some other odds and ends so I could bake these delicious peanut butter cookies.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cups of peanut butter
  • 1 3/4 cups of flour
  • 1/2 cup of Crisco
  • 1 1/4 cups of brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Combine your peanut butter, shortening, milk, brown sugar and vanilla in a bowl. Blend the ingredients with an electric mixer until well blended. Then, add your egg, and blend.
  2. Add your flour, baking soda and salt to the mixture, and mix until blended.
  3. Next, take small amount of dough and roll it into rounded droplets. Place each droplet on a cookie sheet, around 2 inches apart from each other. Flatten each cookie slightly with a fork in a crisscross pattern.
  4. Bake cookies for 7-8 minutes, and then let them cool for 2 minutes.

Now that you’ve cured your boredom, cure your hunger by enjoying some of your peanut butter cookies!
